"I'm Sorry For Complaining" - Funke Akindele Cries To God

It seems our dear actress Funke Akindele rushed into the marriage with Mr Oloyede, and that explains why she also rushed out.
More like she was complaining to God about a man to call her husband and it got to a point she couldn't wait for divine intervention, hence she decided to do things her own way.

But she said she has learnt her lessons the hard way. See her short message to God below:

Dear God, I woke up,

I am healthy. I am alive.

Thank you!

I apologize for all my complaining.

I'm truly truly grateful for all you've done.

#BBATheChase Evictions: Goodbye Annabel

After nine glorious weeks in the House, Annabel's Big Brother journey has come to an end.

As soon as IK made the announcement that her time had come to an end, the Kenyan hugged and kissed her fellow Housemates and exclaimed: "Love you guys," as she walked out gracefully.

For so long the vivacious - AnnaBanana as she has affectionately become known - seemed like the cat with nine lives. Week after week, she was Nominated by her fellow Housemates and each time she proved to be one of the strongest contenders in The Chase with Africa saving her from the grasps of the Eviction gallows a total of four times. But tonight her good fortune has come to an end.

During her Nomination Diary session earlier this evening, Annabel shared her last words for Africa. She said: “Just be who you are because you can never just impress everybody”. Wise words indeed AnnaBanana!

Michael Jackson and I Were Gay Lovers - Scott Thorson

Scott Thorson, 54 — whose life with the pianist was turned into film Behind The Candelabra — said he began bedding Jacko in 1982 after he and Liberace split.

He said: “I was introduced to Michael Jackson through Liberace back in 1977 and we had a fantastic relationship.

“When we broke up in 1982, Michael swept me off my feet and said, ‘Hey, I’m breaking away from the Jackson 5. I’m going solo’. This is when the Thriller tour started. Michael swept me off my feet.”

Asked on Aussie radio if they were lovers, Scott replied: “Yes, for a short term.

“It was short term because Michael became very big at the time and his management team thought it best that we didn’t go any further with our relationship.”
He claimed they were wary of his court battle for a £73million payoff from Liberace — who died in 1987 aged 67. The case was eventually settled for just £60,000.

Scott — currently on US probation for identity theft — said he and Jacko stayed pals until the star, 50, died in 2009 from a drugs overdose.

He added: “It was very sad. But it just goes to show what these plastic surgeons can do to you — or any doctor for that matter.

“Michael started his drug addiction because of the plastic surgeons.”

I’ve found another love —Ayo Adesanya

Ayo Adesanya is not a new face in Nollywood. She has acted alongside veterans like Regina Askia, Liz Benzon, Ucharia Anunobi and many others.
The University of Ibadan graduate of Communications and Language Arts, like many of her peers, ventured into movie production. She spoke with AJIBADE ALABI recently on several issues in the industry.

Why acting and not practicing what you studied in school?
I have always liked acting; it is just inborn. Right from my childhood days, I knew I would end up being an actress.

How did you join the industry?

I went for an interview somewhere, where I met Ifeanyi. It was he who invited me for an auditioning, and in that auditioning I was given a waka pass role. That was my first role, and that was how the journey began.
But I had always wanted to be an actress. I had started right from when I was in nursery school. I acted also when in secondary school. I also acted in church. So, it has been part of me right from the beginning.

Who are your contemporaries in the industry?
I have Bimbo Akintola, Sandra Achums, Eucharia Anunobi and some others I can’t remember now.

What about Regina Askia?
Ha! Regina started before me. The reason people always think we stated together is because we acted many films together, like in Most Wanted, where I played a lead role with her, and that film shot me into limelight. So many people thought we were contemporaries. No, we were not; she started before me. I must give God the glory for that film (Most Wanted). Though I had acted in many films before that, that particular film brought out the talent in me. And it was a film where I acted with the who is who in the industry then.

People seem to see you as being arrogant. How do you take that?
I don’t know where you got your fact from, but all I can tell you is that I am not arrogant. I am a normal person. I am a cool person. The fact that one plays one role in a movie does not make that person to be wicked, arrogant or controversial. There are roles that you will play that people will like you, and there are also roles that you will play that people will feel like stoning you to death. People should know the difference between when one is on set and when one is living one’s normal life. These are two different things. The fact that I acted as prostitute in a movie does not make me a prostitute.

After Goriola Hassan, your ex-hubby, what next?
What next as in what? I am leaving my life as normal. Goriola is a closed chapter in my life; it is one of those things in life. Life continues. Will I continue to ruminate over that? A beg, life continues

Have you found another love?
Yes. I have found another love. I am into a new relationship.

But has love been fair to you?
Yes. Love has been fair to me, and I thank God for that.

Do you still remember 2005 when you were voted as one of the sexiest actresses of the 90s?
I still remember.

Then, you said your eyes were your sexiest part. Are you still holding to that view?
I still believe that my eyes are the sexiest part of me, and people always talk about my eyes as being the sexiest. And I do not doubt that; my eyes are sexy and captivating!

You are one of the very few Yoruba actresses who dumped the English sector to join the Yoruba. Tell us why
I just feel I should go back to my roots. Even while I was doing English movies, I was still appearing in Yoruba movies. For instance, I acted in Iru Oka alongside Ramsey Nouah while I was still in the English caucus. So, it was not as if I did not act in Yoruba before or I just dumped English for Yoruba. I just feel I want to come fully to the Yoruba sector.

As someone who has done both Yoruba and English films, what can you say is the difference between the two?
There is no much difference; the only difference is that Yoruba is rich in story line and they (producers) have very deep story lines that teach morals. I am not castigating any tribe here, mind you; I’m just telling you what I feel. If you take note that a lot of improvement has occurred in Yoruba film industry. The cameras, the location and the costumes and even the effects that are now being used cannot be compared to what we had in the past. So, I can tell you that good things are now happening in the Yoruba section of Nollywood.

Did you have a taste of sexual harassment as an up-and-coming actress?
I did not believe anyone is harassing anybody. If you are talented and you know what you are doing, nobody will ever harass or molest you. Fine, as a fine lady, you are bound to be toasted, it now depends on you to succumb to whoever you want to date. It is not a matter of life and death. I don’t believe anybody can be harassed sexually, except they are not good. If you know what you want, nobody can harass you.

You have acted in many films. Which one can you say was most challenging?
All my roles have been challenging. Take for instance, my role in Osuka, where I played two roles. In that movie, I played the role of a young girl and an old woman – which was very challenging. But you need to watch this my latest film, entitled Amope Alasela. In this one, I played a dual role. I must tell you it was very daunting and tasking, because I had to change many times to play the roles of different people. The director had to wait for me to change. And there was a scene where both characters met. It was very demanding. Apart from that, I also acted some funny part in the film.

Talking about being funny, it seems you have added that to your acting now?
That is what I was telling you. That is to tell you that as an actress, I’m versatile. There is no role I cannot play.llow:f

10 Common Habits That Damage the Kidneys

Kidney disease is one of the costliest illnesses in the world and managing kidney disease is very expensive.

Each year, lots of people die of kidney disease all over the world, and the number of people suffering from chronic renal failure, and need dialysis or kidney transplantation to stay alive keep increasing.

Statistics have it that, worldwide, more than millions patients are waiting for kidney transplants, but only a few thousands will receive transplants because of shortage of suitable organ donors.

Patients usually felt surprised when they are diagnosed of Kidney Failure.

Experts have found the explanation from your daily life habits.

Here are the top habits which lead to your kidney failure below:

1. Not emptying your bladder early: Maintaining a full bladder for a long time is a quick way of causing bladder damage. That the urine stays in the bladder for a long time can cause the bacteria breeding in urine to multiply quickly. Once the urine refluxes back to ureter and kidneys, the bacteria can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infection, and then nephritis, even Uremia.
So, no matter how busy you are, remember to drink a lot of water and urinate regularly. Once you form the habit of holding back urine, it will ultimately damage your kidneys.

2. Not drinking enough water: The main functions of the kidneys are to regulate erythrocyte balances and eliminate metabolic wastes in urine. If we do not drink enough water, the blood will be concentrated and the blood flow to the kidney will not be adequate, thus the function of eliminating toxins in from blood will be impaired.

3. Taking too much salt: 95% sodium we consume through food is metabolized by the kidneys. Exceeding the salt intake will make the kidneys work harder to excrete the excess salt and can lead to decreased kidney function. This excess sodium will cause water retention, causing edema. Edema usually elevates blood pressure and increases the risk of developing kidney disease. The daily salt intake should be controlled within 6g per day.

4. Not treating common infections quickly and properly: Common infections, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, common cold etc, usually triggers or aggravates kidney damage. They do this by causing an acute attack of acute glomerulonephritis or chronic nephritis. So, you will see that people who get kidney disease for the first time or whose illness condition becomes worse usually present in hospitals with a history of cold or sore throat.
If after having cold, symptoms like blood in urine, swelling, headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, poor appetite appear, you should consult your doctor immediately, to assess your kidney functions, and start treatment if compromised.

5. Eating too much meat: Eating too much meat and protein can increase the metabolic load of the kidney. For those suffering from proteinuria, meat consumption too may aggravate protein leakage, worsening renal pathological lesion.
It is suggested that protein intake should be 0.8g/kg per day. This means that a person with 50 kg should consume 40g of protein per day. Meat consumption per day should be limited within 300g.

6. Not eating enough: This is equally as dangerous as eating too much, both of them will lead damages to your digestive organs where is full of mucosal tissues. Mucosal tissues relates closely to your immune system. This is why many kidney failure patients are diagnosed with “autoimmune kidney damages”.

7. Painkiller abuse: The use of analgesics for a prolonged duration may reduce the flow blood and greatly affect kidney function. In addition, patients with analgesic-induced renal failure are more likely to suffer from bladder cancer.
Use analgesics only when it's absolutely necessary, learn to rest instead of taking to the bottles. If you have been on pain killers for a long term, it's about time you had a test to access you renal function done.

8. Missing your drugs: Hypertension and diabetes have been shown to precipitate or accelerate kidney damage, so if you are diagnosed as having any of these disease don't live your life in denial, USE YOUR DRUGS.
This will ultimately help control your condition while also helping to preserve your kidneys.

9. Drinking too much alcohol: Drinking alcohol without limitation may cause the deposition of uric acid in renal tubules, causing tubular obstruction and increasing risks of kidney failure.

10. Not resting enough: In our society, hypertension as a severe threat to life is largely due to stress. A common symptom of stress is insomnia. Blood pressure may increase by an average of 2-5mg/Hg because of insomnia. Chronically elevated blood pressure can cause damage to kidney capillaries giving rise to kidney problems. Thus, we need to develop a good attitude to life and strike a good balance between work and rest to protect your kidneys and live a healthy life.

At the early stage of kidney diseases, there are usually no the special symptoms, so lots of patients are not diagnosed until the acute attack appears or the illness condition develops into the late stage. So you should endeavor to do kidney function test from time to time to assess how healthy your kidneys are.

Never ignore the soreness of waist, swelling of the feet, changes in urine color or volume, increase in night urination, palor, high blood pressure and other such symptoms. Once found, you should go and see your doctor immediately.
